BCN Peel #02 – Anti-Ageing is a chemical exfoliant that combines two alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs): mandelic acid and glycolic acid. Mandelic acid has a larger molecular structure than other AHAs, allowing for slower penetration into the stratum corneum and requiring a longer exposure time. This results in no irritation or itching on the skin. Additionally, it increases collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis in the papillary dermis. Glycolic acid, with its high skin tolerance and small molecular size, has the ability to penetrate the epidermis effectively. Its keratolytic activity promotes exfoliation of the superficial layers of the stratum corneum by altering corneocyte cohesion. It also stimulates cell regeneration, promotes glycosaminoglycan synthesis, increases epidermal hydration, and strengthens the
